About the Role:
In this role the incumbent will have an opportunity to provide legal advisory around strategic partnerships, entry into new joint ventures or investments and rights acquisitions having strategic or network-level impact. You will be evaluating and advising on key rights acquisitions and work on strategic monetization of rights.

Key Responsibilities:
- Business advisory around strategic partnerships, entry into new joint ventures or investments and rights acquisitions having strategic or network-level impact.
- Structuring, negotiating, and drafting: Documentation for key partnerships, strategic bids and rights acquisitions and other strategic network-level initiatives.
- Investment documentation including shareholders’ agreements, share purchase agreements, etc. – essentially, negotiating prime positions for Disney-Star entities, structuring the resulting entities in an optimum manner and maximising value of the JV/combination by obtaining key rights for Disney-Star
- Evaluating and advising on key rights acquisitions (through bilateral negotiations as well as tender processes) and strategic monetization of rights.
- Research and advisory around key regulatory issues impacting the media and technology sector or Disney Star India as an organization (e.g. issues around anti-trust, data privacy, FDI policy and offshore investments, etc.), evolving strategies to derisk our businesses from regulatory risk while maintaining operational efficiency and working to maximize revenues.
Qualifications:
The candidate should have:
- 6-8 years of transactional experience in general corporate or banking/finance (of which at least 3-4 years should be at a tier 1 law firm).
- Excellent drafting and research skills.
- A keen interest in the media/entertainment sector and the associated regulatory landscape
- Experience handling media/broadcast issues and media rights agreements would be an added advantage.
